Smoke from Nubarashen Landfill Blankets Yerevan

The fire at the Nubarashen landfill has been extinguished, but the sources of the fire still continue to emit smoke. This exacerbates the issue of air pollution in the Yerevan area. In the center of Yerevan, as of 11:00, conditioned by its geographical location, a higher level of air pollution is observed, Mayor Tigran Avinyan noted in a Facebook post.

"According to the data received from sensors, the value is 105 and is in the range of unhealthy for sensitive groups. In other parts of the capital, the air quality is relatively better. Although this indicator does not cause a negative impact on the health of the general population in the short term, it can have a negative effect on people with respiratory problems. Therefore, people with respiratory problems are advised to limit their time outdoors. It is not recommended to engage in sports outdoors," Avinyan wrote.
