Trump: A Deal on Gaza Could Be Reached Soon

Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social page that he is holding productive discussions with the Middle Eastern community regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip.

"Intense negotiations have been going on for four days and will continue as long as necessary to reach a final agreement. All countries in the region are involved, Hamas and Israel are well aware of these discussions," the US President detailed, adding, "We must return the hostages and achieve a lasting peace."

Trump's optimism on this issue is not shared by his close ally, Netanyahu. In his speech at the UN General Assembly, the Israeli Prime Minister warned that they "are not done yet." Israeli forces will continue operations in Gaza, where, according to Netanyahu, the remnants of Hamas are hiding and want to repeat the October 7 operation.

Recall that Trump had earlier stated that an agreement on Gaza could be signed in the near future. The US President had also assured that he would not allow Israel to annex the West Bank of the Jordan River.
