Shooting in Vagharshapat: Casings Found, One Person Injured

Today, September 14, shots were fired in the Armavir region. Around 07:00, the Main Department of Criminal Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Armavir regional criminal department of the same department received operational information that shots had been fired on the left side of the Yerevan-Armavir highway at the beginning of Vagharshapat city, near a gas station. Criminal police officers of the Armavir region, led by department head Artur Bdoyan, arrived at the scene. It was confirmed on the spot that the operational information was accurate. Patrol officers from the Armavir regional battalion of the Patrol Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia also arrived at the scene.

Information about the incident was transferred from the Vagharshapat police department to the Vagharshapat investigative department of the Armavir regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee, from where an investigative group arrived, led by the responsible duty investigator of the day. At the scene, two casings fired from different pistols and blood-like traces were found.

According to operational information, there is an injured person, and at this moment the police and investigators are trying to find out whether the injured person has sought medical help at a hospital or is receiving treatment at home. Criminal proceedings have been initiated in the Vagharshapat investigative department regarding the incident, and the police and the investigative department are taking necessary measures to clarify the circumstances of the case, to identify the shooters, to find them and the firearms used in the crime, to identify the injured person and to find them as well.
