He left the prison grounds in a car, accompanied by police motorcycles.

Sarkozy, convicted for illegal campaign financing, is now obliged to wear an electronic bracelet on his ankle. In addition, the former president is forbidden from having any contact with the other defendants and witnesses in his case.
