Samvel Karapetyan's Detention Extended by 30 Days

Samvel Karapetyan's detention was extended by 30 days. The decision was made by the Anti-Corruption Court, presided over by Vahe Dolmazyan. "The court recorded today that neither the second nor the third episode of the charge has even overcome the threshold of reasonable suspicion. As for the calls, the impression seems to be that this one month is being extended with the logic of 'either finish this case and send it to court, or finish it altogether'," said Samvel Karapetyan's lawyer, Aram Vardevanyan, stressing that the investigator's motion was thus partially granted.
It should be recalled that on June 17, Samvel Karapetyan's house was searched after he publicly expressed support for the Armenian Apostolic Church, emphasizing that a small group, forgetting Armenian history, the thousand-year history of the Armenian Church, had attacked the Armenian Church, the Armenian people. Karapetyan was arrested for 2 months on June 18. On August 15, Anti-Corruption Court judge Tigran Davtyan extended Samvel Karapetyan's detention for 2 months.
