New Sail-Backed Dinosaur Species Found on Isle of Wight

A previously unknown species of dinosaur has been discovered on the Isle of Wight, reports the BBC. It has an impressive "sail" along the entire length of its back. The newly discovered dinosaur has been named Istiorachis macarthurae in honor of the sailor Dame Ellen MacArthur.
Ellen MacArthur, a record-holder for solo circumnavigation of the globe, noted that this is a "great honor" for her, adding:
"The fact that the 'sail' of Istiorachis can be compared to the sails under which I have spent most of my life is very touching." It should be noted that in 2005, Dame Ellen MacArthur became the fastest woman to complete a non-stop solo circumnavigation of the world.
After research, the dinosaur was officially named and described by the island's scientist Jeremy Lockwood and is now on display at the Dinosaur Isle Museum in Sandown.
