S. Karapetyan: No One Should Think of Attacking the Church

Businessman Samvel Karapetyan has sent another message from the "Yerevan-Kentron" penitentiary institution. The main part of the message concerns state-church relations. He informed that a working group on the protection of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church and our national values is operating within the "Our Way" movement and spoke about the primary tasks set before this group.
"First, everything possible must be done to regulate state-church relations in such a way that in the future, it does not cross the mind of any small group to launch a new attack on our most important national institution and have hope of success. Given the existing constitutional grounds, I am confident that this is a quickly solvable issue, and discussions with specialists will lead to the formulation of the correct formula.
It is no less important that spiritual life becomes an integral part of our people's daily life, and the movement has a role to play here as well. Many problems that exist in our society and threaten to spoil both the moral character and the health of our future generation have arisen from a lack of real spiritual nourishment. A person who is factually well-fed but devoid of spiritual values and moral principles brings absolutely no benefit to society, the state, or the homeland, and cannot," Samvel Karapetyan wrote in particular.
