Russia's SVR: West Prepares to Blame Russia for Zaporizhzhia NPP Accident

The Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) of Russia has issued a statement claiming that Western countries are preparing to blame Russia for a possible major accident at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP).
According to a message published on the agency's website, the matter concerns the "implementation of a major sabotage similar to the downing of the Malaysian Boeing in 2014, with casualties among Ukrainians and residents of EU countries." The SVR claims that "the option of organizing sabotage at the Zaporizhzhia NPP with the melting of the active zone of its nuclear reactors is being considered" as a possible scenario.
The Russian intelligence service warns that in the event of such a sabotage, "residents of the regions under Kyiv's control and citizens of EU countries located near Ukraine's western border will be in the zone of radioactivity spread."
Thus, according to the Russian side, an informational ground is being prepared to place full responsibility for any incident at the nuclear power plant on the Russian Federation.
