Russian MFA: "E3" threats are a destabilizing factor

At the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they commented for the "Kommersant" publication on the threat from the three European mediator countries of the Iranian deal to restore the harsh UN Security Council sanctions that were in effect against Iran before 2015, if Tehran does not make significant concessions on its nuclear program by August 31.
"The threats from Great Britain, Germany, and France to activate the mechanism for restoring the previously canceled UN sanctions against Iran (called snapback) are a serious destabilizing factor," the Russian MFA's Information and Press Department said. According to the MFA, the Europeans advocate for diplomacy and negotiations, but their behavior distances such a prospect and forces one to doubt their interest in essentially resolving the issues they have raised.
"By engaging in manipulations related to 'snapback,' the Europeans," as they believe at the Russian MFA, "are wasting precious time and energy in vain."
"It is necessary to return to diplomacy and, on that basis, to agree on possible ways to eliminate any doubts and prejudices regarding Iran's peaceful atom, based on international law and with due consideration for the interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran, including its right to enrich uranium for civilian needs under international supervision. It is on this that all efforts should be focused now," the department emphasized.
