Russian Embassy Claps Back at Turkish Crash Theories

12 NOV 2025 10:43
The black boxes of the Turkish C-130 military transport plane that crashed in Georgian airspace have already been found. The real causes of the crash will become known after the examination of the black boxes.
Meanwhile, passions are running high around the various theories. The Turkish segment has quite actively started to blame Russia, forcing the Russian Embassy in Ankara to resort to unprecedentedly harsh and direct counter-responses.
It all started with footage spread on social media, which shows how the cockpit and tail section of the aircraft, flying from Azerbaijan to Turkey, separated from the fuselage. It is this circumstance that has given rise to much speculation, forming a conviction among Turkish users that the plane was shot down and that Russia is behind it.
In response to these accusations, the Russian Embassy in Ankara, which had officially expressed condolences to Turkey immediately after the incident, was forced to launch a harsh counterattack, directly responding to users. When a user wrote in one of the social media comments, "Russia shot down our plane," a surprised and at the same time stern response followed from the embassy's official page: "How could such a thought even enter your head?"
To reinforce its arguments, the Russian diplomatic mission even published a map of the C-130 crash site, emphasizing that the area has no connection with Russia.
In response to a similar accusation voiced by another Turkish user, the embassy tried to adopt a more conciliatory tone, while at the same time sending a clear message: "We are not your enemies. We are striving to improve relations between Russia and Turkey."
