Russia and Ukraine exchanged prisoners of war in a "146 for 146" formula

A prisoner of war exchange was conducted between Russia and Ukraine on the afternoon of August 24. The parties handed over 146 servicemen to each other, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported. In addition, eight residents of the Kursk region who were being held by the Ukrainian side were returned to Russia. The United Arab Emirates provided humanitarian mediation efforts for the return of the Russian servicemen from captivity.
