Russia Tests "Burevestnik" Missile; Trump Points to US Submarines

New tensions have arisen in relations between Russia and the US after the Russian armed forces announced the successful test of the intercontinental nuclear missile "Burevestnik." This announcement, perceived as a show of force, was almost immediately met with a harsh response from US President Donald Trump, bringing to the surface the deep strategic rivalry between the two superpowers.
As reported by the Russian TASS agency, the test of the "Burevestnik" missile was successful. According to official data, the missile remained in the air for about 15 hours and covered an impressive distance of 14,000 kilometers. Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on this event, did not spare high praise, emphasizing the superiority of Russian military technologies. "This is a unique product that has no alternative anywhere in the world," Putin stated, sending a clear message to the international community about Russia's military capabilities.
This statement by the Russian side did not go unanswered. US President Donald Trump made a counter-statement, in which he not only criticized Russia's actions but also reminded of the US's military potential. Trump noted that Putin should focus on establishing peace, not on testing new armaments. The head of the White House recalled that Washington has effective means to counter Russian missiles. "They know that we have a nuclear submarine, the best in the world, right off their coast. So, we don't need a missile that can fly 8,000 miles," Trump commented.
Thus, the test of one missile turned into an exchange of geopolitical messages, where each side is trying to demonstrate its military superiority. This unwittingly recalls the rhetoric of the Cold War years and raises concerns about the possibility of a new arms race.
