Russia Says It Foiled Assassination Attempt on Shoigu

Ukrainian special services were preparing an assassination attempt against the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergey Shoigu, at the Troyekurovskoye cemetery in Moscow.

According to information, the assassination was planned to be carried out when Shoigu was visiting the graves of his relatives. The explosive device was planned to be detonated via a camera hidden in a flowerpot placed on the grave.

The terrorist attack was prevented by officers of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia. On November 14, the FSB reported the arrest of three suspects who participated in the preparation of the crime. Among the detainees are a Russian married couple and a migrant from one of the Central Asian countries.
