Russia Revokes Citizenship of Azerbaijani Diaspora Leader

The Russian Federation citizenship of Bakhtiyar Hasanov, the chairman of the National-Cultural Autonomy of Azerbaijanis of Moscow, has been revoked.

A number of Russian and Azerbaijani media outlets report this, citing Telegram channels. The Russian passport was taken back from the head of the Azerbaijani diaspora. He had received Russian citizenship in the 2000s.

As a reminder, Bakhtiyar Hasanov was elected chairman of the National-Cultural Autonomy of Azerbaijanis of Moscow in 2022.
