The Russian Federation reaffirms its readiness to continue its active mediating role in the process of normalizing Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. Moscow recalls that its offer to provide a platform for the signing of a comprehensive peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan remains in force. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Galuzin, as reported by "RIA Novosti".
During his speech at a reception dedicated to the Independence Day of Armenia, the high-ranking Russian diplomat specifically emphasized that the Russian side attaches great importance to the full normalization of relations between Yerevan and Baku. "It is obvious that serious work still needs to be done to implement what is planned in practice. We are ready to provide Yerevan and Baku with all the necessary support in overcoming the remaining differences," Galuzin noted.
The Deputy Minister also stressed that Russia's support will be based on the provisions of the trilateral statements signed between the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. According to Galuzin, Russia has already played a "great and effective role" in the settlement process.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Russian Federation, Gurgen Arsenyan, highly praised the efforts of Russian diplomacy. He called Russia's contribution to the settlement process "special."
