Russia Launches 93 Shahed Drones in Overnight Attack on Ukraine

On the night of August 19-20, Russia launched another large-scale air attack on Ukraine, using various types of weapons. In total, 93 Shahed-type attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and two Iskander-M ballistic missiles were launched at the territory of Ukraine. Ukrainian air defense forces managed to neutralize one ballistic missile and 62 UAVs.
The main directions of the strikes were the Odesa and Sumy regions. In the city of Izmail in the Odesa region, port and industrial infrastructure were targeted, resulting in a major fire at a fuel and energy facility.
One civilian was injured as a result of this attack. In the city of Okhtyrka in the Sumy region, the UAV strikes targeted a residential area of the city, resulting in 12 people being injured, including two children. An apartment building and 13 private houses were damaged.
On the ground front, Russian troops continue offensive operations in several directions. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, over the past 24 hours, the "Center," "South," and "West" troop groups have improved their positions, while the "East" troop group continues to advance deep into the Ukrainian defense.
The most active clashes are taking place in the Pokrovsk direction. There is no confirmed information about the capture of specific settlements in the last 24 hours.
