Russia Hits Ukraine's Energy Grid in Massive Drone Attack

In many cities and regions of Ukraine, work continues to eliminate the consequences of the massive attack carried out by the Russian armed forces on energy infrastructure. The attack, which Kyiv described as "cynical and calculated," was carried out using more than 450 unmanned aerial vehicles and more than three dozen missiles, with the aim of disrupting the country's normal life.
Currently, more than 20 casualties are known. Unfortunately, one child was killed as a result of the attack in Zaporizhzhia.
The capital, Kyiv, was seriously affected by the attack, where restoration brigades are working to restore electricity and water supplies. Massive power outages occurred in the Kyiv, Donetsk, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Odesa, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Restoration work is also underway in the Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, and Kherson regions after the strikes.
All services, including rescue teams, are working around the clock. Regular reports on the situation are received from the Minister for Communities and Territories Development, Oleksiy Kuleba, the Minister of Energy, Svitlana Grynchuk, and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko.
In Kyiv, this attack is seen as a deliberate attempt to disable Ukraine's civilian and energy infrastructure before the heating season. In this regard, Ukraine has appealed to the international community, calling for a shift from empty words to decisive action. "Together we can protect people from this terrorism. What is needed are not empty words, but decisive actions from the US, Europe, and the G7 in supplying air defense systems and implementing sanctions," the message said.
Kyiv also expects a response to this "brutality" from the G20 and all those countries that speak of peace in their speeches but refrain from taking real steps. "The world can defend itself against these crimes, and this will definitely strengthen global security," the message states.
