Russia Conducts Strategic Nuclear Forces Exercise

22 OCT 2025 16:24
The Russian Federation, under the direct leadership of President Vladimir Putin, has conducted a planned exercise of its strategic nuclear forces. This was reported by the Kremlin's press service. This information is particularly noteworthy, especially after the, if not cancellation, then at least indefinite postponement of the Budapest summit.
During the exercise, launches of intercontinental ballistic and air-launched cruise missiles were carried out.
Specifically, a "Yars" intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from the "Plesetsk" state experimental cosmodrome towards the "Kura" training ground in Kamchatka.
At the same time, a "Sineva" ballistic missile was launched from the "Bryansk" nuclear submarine in the Barents Sea. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has published a video of this launch.
The exercise also involved Tu-95MS long-range aviation aircraft, which carried out launches of air-launched cruise missiles.
According to the Kremlin's statement, the management of the practical launches was carried out from the National Defense Management Center of the Russian Federation.
It is emphasized that all the tasks set during the exercise were fully completed.
