On the night of September 30 to October 1, a number of regions of Ukraine were subjected to a combined attack by Russian forces. During it, unmanned aerial vehicles and various types of missiles were used. Explosions were recorded in Kharkiv, Odesa, and Sumy regions, but the city of Kharkiv and its surrounding districts suffered the heaviest blow.
During the night, Kharkiv, its suburbs, and the Chuhuiv district were subjected to a massive attack with guided aerial bombs and missiles. As a result of the strikes, serious destruction and fires broke out in the Kyivskyi and Saltivskyi districts of the city.
In the Kyivskyi district, commercial pavilions covering an area of about 2,800 square meters were set on fire, which, according to some reports, are located in the "Barabashovo" market area. In the Saltivskyi district, a residential building collapsed as a result of a strike, which was followed by a fire. Garages with a total area of about 350 square meters were also burned and destroyed.
According to preliminary data, at least five people were injured as a result of the attack, although other sources report six injured, one of whom is a police officer. The victims, including an 80-year-old woman, received shrapnel wounds and were taken to the hospital.
Units of the State Emergency Service, sappers, psychologists, dog handlers, and volunteer firefighters are working at the scene. The fires have been contained, and work to eliminate the consequences continues.
The media also report a strike on call centers in the city of Dnipro. According to Russian sources, these centers were engaged in extorting money from Russian citizens. This information has not yet been officially confirmed by the Ukrainian side. Explosions were also heard in the Odesa and Sumy regions, but details about their consequences are not yet reported.
