RT Editor Margarita Simonyan Reveals Serious Illness

RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan has announced that she has a serious illness and will soon have to undergo surgery. She said this on the air of the "Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov" program on the "Rossiya-1" TV channel.

"This week I was diagnosed with a terrible, serious illness. Tomorrow they are going to operate on me right here, under this order," she said, pointing to the church order of Princess Olga, which was awarded to her a day earlier by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.

She also recalled that her husband, director Tigran Keosayan, has been in a coma for 9 months.
