Putin to Meet Trump Envoys Witkoff and Kushner in Moscow
2 DEC 2025 11:37
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has officially confirmed that Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of the White House chief, will also be present at today's scheduled meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff. Although various international media outlets had actively written about this earlier, there was no official confirmation from Moscow yet.
The meeting, which will take place in the Kremlin, will start at approximately 18:00 Yerevan time. Peskov emphasized that the composition of the American delegation will be strictly limited: besides Witkoff and Kushner, "only the interpreters" will be present in the hall.
This emphasis is not accidental. The fact is that during previous visits, Steve Witkoff was sharply criticized for meeting with Putin alone and relying solely on the help of a Kremlin interpreter. This time, apparently, the American side has decided to avoid such talk by providing its own translation support.
As for the time limits of the negotiations, the Kremlin prefers not to predetermine the course. According to "Interfax," Peskov answered the question about the duration rather concisely, stating that the meeting will last as long "as required," depending on the volume and importance of the issues under discussion.
Russian news agencies have also recorded the arrival of the delegation: it is reported that the plane, which Witkoff usually travels on, has already landed at Moscow's "Vnukovo" airport from Miami.
