Putin: Moscow, Beijing for UN Reform, More Diverse Council

Vladimir Putin said this in an interview with the Xinhua agency. He spoke about the interaction of the parties in the UN, noting that the contacts are at an "unprecedentedly high level."

According to Putin, the UN needs reform.

"In particular, we are in favor of giving the Security Council a more democratic character by including Asian, African, and Latin American states in its composition. At the same time, any changes must be carefully verified."
