First US Arms Shipment Under PURL Program Arrives in Ukraine

The first batch of military cargo, provided for by the agreement signed between the US and NATO under the PURL program, has arrived in Ukraine. New deliveries are expected in the near future. A NATO representative informed the media about this. According to him, more aid packages are "already on their way." Currently, four packages have been financed under the PURL program.
It was on September 17 that the Donald Trump administration confirmed that Ukraine would soon receive aid for the first time from NATO allies, from US stockpiles, within the framework of the PURL mechanism.
Earlier, the Reuters agency, citing two sources, had reported that the first packages of aid in the field of armaments for Ukraine from the US had been approved by the Trump administration and could be sent soon. This will take place within the framework of a new financial agreement with allies, by which Washington is resuming the supply of weapons to Kyiv.
To recall, on July 14, the US and NATO signed the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) agreement, which provides for the supply of American weapons to Ukraine with funding from European countries. According to the Secretary General of the military-political alliance, Mark Rutte, within the framework of the agreement, Kyiv can receive a large quantity of anti-aircraft defense systems, missiles, and ammunition.
It is known that Denmark has allocated about 580 million Danish kroner for this program, Sweden - 275 million dollars, and Norway - about 135 million dollars. Earlier, the Netherlands had financed the first package of aid within the PURL framework, worth 500 million euros. Germany has also joined the program.
