Prosecutor's Office Appeals Archbishop Mikayel's Sentence

The Prosecutor's Office has appealed the verdict against Archbishop Mikayel regarding the punishment and has asked the Criminal Court of Appeal to impose a sentence of imprisonment for a term of 2 years and 6 months.

"In the opinion of the defense team, the Prosecutor's Office, by hastily filing an appeal, will try to 'control' the process of appointing preferred judges of the appellate criminal court and to achieve a quick resolution of the case by the appellate court," writes the defense team.
