Poverty and Inequality Decline in Armenia, Wages Rise

In January-September 2025, the number of hired employees continued to grow, recording a 4.8% increase, while the average monthly nominal salary increased by 5.3% compared to the previous year, amounting to 295,042 AMD. RA Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan announced this in the parliament.
As a result of 2024, the poverty level decreased by 2 percentage points, reaching 21.7%, and extreme poverty decreased from 1.1% to 0.6%. The Gini coefficient, which characterizes inequality, also decreased, being at a low level compared to recent years, Hovhannisyan noted.
