Popular TikTok Blogger Publicly Executed in Mali

In northern Mali, militants have kidnapped and publicly executed a popular female TikTok blogger. This was reported by the South China Morning Post (SCMP), citing the girl's relatives and local authorities.

It is believed that jihadist groups are behind the brutal murder. The girl, on her blog which had around 90,000 followers, often posted videos about her hometown of Tonka. The kidnappers "accused her of collaborating with the army." According to the murdered girl's brother, she was accused of allegedly passing information to the Malian armed forces about the militants' movements.

The blogger was publicly shot in the square of Tonka town.
