Poland to Deploy 40,000 Troops on Belarus and Russia Borders

The Polish authorities have decided to deploy about 40,000 soldiers to the border with Russia and Belarus in the coming days. Deputy Minister of Defense Cezary Tomczyk announced this, reports Anadolu Agency. "That is exactly how the war in Ukraine began, with military exercises. Therefore, the Polish military is preparing for it. In the coming days, about 40,000 of our servicemen will be at the border," said Tomczyk. According to him, this will be an "adequate response" to the start of the Russian-Belarusian "Zapad-2025" military exercises.

To recall, the joint exercises of Moscow and Minsk will take place from September 12-16 on the territory of Belarus. RF Minister of Defense Andrey Belousov stated that the exercises are exclusively defensive in nature. According to him, during the exercises, a scenario for preventing possible aggression against the Union State will be worked out.

Earlier, the President of Ukraine, Zelenskyy, had commented on the upcoming exercises of Russia and Belarus.
