Poland Invokes NATO Article 4 After Drone Incident

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced that Warsaw, in connection with the UAV incident, has applied to NATO, requesting the application of Article 4 of the alliance's treaty.

This article provides that any member country of the alliance can initiate consultations if it believes it is under threat.

The Chargé d'Affaires of Russia in Poland, Andrey Ordash, has called the statements of the Polish authorities about the Russian origin of the drones shot down over its territory unfounded.

The diplomat recalled that the only case when the origin of an aerial target that fell on Poland was successfully confirmed was a Ukrainian missile in November 2022.
