Iran's Pezeshkian Proposes SCO Peace Committee

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian presented Tehran's approaches and expectations from the SCO at the 25th summit of the heads of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
The IRI is convinced that the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, as one of the important components of the multipolarization of the international system, must take concrete, clear, and transparent steps in two parallel directions: to create a more peaceful world, as well as a world that is more favorable for expanding economic cooperation.
"I want to emphasize the specific proposal of the IRI to pursue two important necessities or efforts in a more organized way: the 'need to establish peace' and the 'need to strengthen financial cooperation to reduce the impact of unilateral sanctions',"
Pezeshkian noted. In the field of establishing peace, it is necessary to create a committee composed of the foreign ministers of the member states, which will discuss and consult on various crises threatening regional peace and security, develop practical proposals for crisis management, and present a mechanism for their implementation, the Iranian president detailed his proposal.
