Pezeshkian Briefs Putin on Armenia Visit, Security Talks

In a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian referred to his recent visit to Armenia. According to Pezeshkian, he received assurances from RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that Iran's concerns have been fully taken into account in the discussions and agreements with Azerbaijan and the United States.
As reported by "Armenpress," the Mehr agency informs about this. Pezeshkian emphasized that the "3+3" regional cooperation platform with the participation of Iran and Russia is a more effective mechanism for solving the existing problems in the Caucasian region.Pezeshkian also highlighted the importance of organizations such as the EAEU, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, and BRICS for expanding cooperation.
The President of Iran has stated that he will personally oversee the accelerated construction of the Rasht-Astara railway, which plays an important role in connecting the Persian Gulf to Russia and Central Asia via the International North-South Transport Corridor.
Putin, in turn, confirmed Russia's strong support for Iran's right to uranium enrichment, calling it a main and essential aspect of their partnership. He also emphasized that trade between the two countries grew by 11% in the first half of 2025.
The RF President presented to the Iranian President the main results of the recent negotiations with US President Donald Trump in Alaska.
