Pentagon Creates Task Force to Counter Hostile Drones

The Pentagon is creating a task force to counter unmanned aerial vehicles. US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced this in a video message on his X page.
"There is no doubt that the dangers threatening us from hostile drones are growing by the day," he noted. "We see it on the battlefield, in remote locations, and at our borders," the secretary added.
According to Hegseth, there is a danger of drones being used to carry out strikes against American forces and to violate US airspace. "That is why today I am instructing the Secretary of the Army (the commander of US ground forces - ed.) to create a joint interagency task force.
This is a new unified group that will bring together the best specialists from all our departments to respond to these threats and to regain control of our skies," the Pentagon chief added. He clarified that the group will be engaged in "countering UAVs."
