Pentagon Completes 'Golden Dome' Missile Defense System

The Pentagon has completed the development of the "Golden Dome" system. This was announced by Space Force General Michael Guetlein, who is responsible for the program's development, writes Bloomberg. However, he did not mention the cost of the program.
In May 2025, US President Donald Trump had stated that the implementation of the program could cost $175 billion. But the Congressional Budget Office believes the costs will be much higher, estimating the 20-year cost of the space jammer network alone at $542 billion.
The "Golden Dome" program, which US President Donald Trump first spoke about in January, aims to create a network of satellites for the detection, tracking, and possible interception of missiles.
The program includes an array of surveillance satellites and a separate group of offensive satellites that will strike offensive missiles immediately after their launch.
