Pashinyan-Trump MOUs Define Future Cooperation Areas

Armenia's Ambassador to the US, Lilit Makunts, told "Armenpress" that the three memorandums signed as a result of the bilateral meeting between RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and US President Donald Trump outline the main directions of bilateral relations for the coming years.

"I want to remind you that they relate to capacity development within the 'Crossroads of Peace' project, the development of innovation in the field of artificial intelligence and semiconductors, as well as cooperation in the field of energy security. These three memorandums outline the main directions of bilateral relations for the coming years, which we must work on; it is very important from a strategic point of view to have that planning," said Makunts.

The ambassador recalled that in January of this year, Armenia and the US signed a strategic partnership document, which outlines a fairly large framework for cooperation. "And at that time, we were already planning that we needed to discuss with the newly forming US administration and understand what the preferable sectors for this phase would be, which we should work on, and accordingly, these directions were considered sufficiently important," the ambassador detailed.
