Pashinyan Tours New Schools and Medical Centers

To what extent are the Government's promises real, who are the beneficiaries of those promises, and are the priorities declared in Yerevan perceived in the same way outside of Yerevan? On September 12, Prime Minister Pashinyan visited a number of communities, visiting several educational and healthcare facilities built or renovated with allocations from the state budget and non-state funding.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Lori, Kotayk, and Gegharkunik provinces and familiarized himself with completed and ongoing projects. As the Office of the RA Prime Minister informs, the Prime Minister's first stop was at the newly built "Harutyun and Susan Mangoyan" secondary school in Debed.
The project's cost is 780 million drams, which was allocated by the "Children of Armenia" Fund (COAF). The school's property was provided by the Government. In the near future, a gymnasium will also be built at the school with state funding. The school is designed for 192 students. As of 2025, the actual number of students is 114. The works started in April 2024 and were completed on September 1, 2025.
Then, the Prime Minister visited the Vanadzor Medical Center, where he familiarized himself with the construction work of the infectious diseases building. The project's cost is 956 million drams, of which 214 million drams were allocated by the Government, and the rest are grant funds. The infectious diseases building has a capacity of 50 beds.
The works started in May 2023 and were completed in March 2025. 99 million drams were spent on equipping it with medical devices and property.
Nikol Pashinyan's next stop was at Vanadzor's No. 8 main school, where major renovation works were carried out. The total cost of the project was 245 million drams, which was allocated by the Government. The school is designed for 358 students. The renovation works are planned to be completed in October. The school is included in the list of schools in the Government's program "300 schools to be built, renovated or reconstructed by 2026."
Next, the Prime Minister visited Vanadzor's No. 9 main school, where major renovation works were also carried out. More than 140 million drams were allocated from the state budget for the latter. The school is designed for 183 students. This school is also included in the list of the Government's program "300 schools to be built, renovated or reconstructed by 2026." A new gymnasium was also built at Vanadzor's No. 9 main school. The Government allocated 224 million drams for the project.
In the Kotayk province, the Prime Minister visited the newly built No. 2 main school in Hrazdan. The total cost of the project is about 1 billion 912 million drams. The project was implemented through the Seismic Safety Improvement Program of the Asian Development Bank and with co-financing from the RA Government. The newly built school is designed for 432 students. Construction work began in November 2021 and was completed in August 2025. The school is included in the list of schools in the Government's program "300 schools to be built, renovated or reconstructed by 2026."
In the Hrazdan community, Nikol Pashinyan also visited a modular-type nursery-kindergarten with a capacity of 144, where construction work is in its final phase. The total cost of the project is 929 million drams; the funds were provided from the RA state budget.
According to the Office of the RA Prime Minister, in the Gegharkunik province, Nikol Pashinyan visited the newly built secondary school in Jil and familiarized himself with the work done and the conditions created. The cost of the school's construction is more than 1 billion 397 million drams, which was allocated by the Government. As a result of the project, a new modular school and a preschool with a capacity of 20 have been built. The project started in 2021 and was completed in 2025.
The Prime Minister referred to the slogan "The Future is Today" and noted: "It, first of all, refers to the school, because what a child is busy with at school today, with what quality they are busy, with all that we can predict his future with 80 percent or more accuracy," said Nikol Pashinyan and emphasized: "The slogan is about the fact that the future should not be predicted, one should not make guesses about the future, the future is being built today also by your work: to what extent the children are immersed in the educational process, to what extent that educational process is pleasant for them, to what extent it endows them with the very knowledge that should help them find their favorite job in life and how professional they will be in their favorite job," noted Nikol Pashinyan.
