The potential for the development of trade and economic relations between Armenia and Kazakhstan is much greater than the current indicators, and to realize it, it is necessary to restore direct air communication. The topic was discussed during the meeting between the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, and the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, in Astana.
As the "Armenpress" correspondent reports from Astana, the heads of government of the two countries addressed the prospects for deepening economic ties. Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized that although the current dynamics are not bad, transport limitations have for many years hindered the full use of the huge bilateral potential.
"Now new transport opportunities are opening up. With President Tokayev, we had the opportunity to discuss the issue of restoring air communication between our countries, and I would be grateful for your support in that as well," Nikol Pashinyan said, addressing his counterpart.
He noted that active developments are taking place in the aviation sector in Armenia, but the market is still in the formation stage. In this context, the Prime Minister of Armenia called on Kazakh airlines to show initiative, assuring that the attention of Armenian companies will also be drawn to these opportunities.
In conclusion, Prime Minister Pashinyayan mentioned that there is a very good political, economic, and cultural atmosphere in bilateral relations, but there is room to do more. "I am convinced that we will be able to jointly develop this situation," he concluded, reaffirming the commitment to activating economic ties.
