Pashinyan Meets with Catholicos-Patriarch Minassian in Rome

During his working visit to the Holy See (Vatican), Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with His Beatitude Catholicos-Patriarch of the House of Cilicia of Catholic Armenians, Raphaël Bedros XXI Minassian, and the students of the Levonian Pontifical College adjacent to the Armenian Catholic Church of St. Nicholas in Rome.

During the meeting, in a question-and-answer format, issues of Armenia's domestic and foreign policy, existing problems, the process of establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, regional developments, as well as steps aimed at overcoming existing challenges were discussed.

The parties also exchanged views on the work being done to spread and preserve Christian values, as well as other spiritual and social topics.

At the end of the meeting, the Catholicos-Patriarch of the House of Cilicia of Catholic Armenians presented Prime Minister Pashinyan with a relic from the vestments of Saint Ignatius Maloyan—a liturgical vestment used during Mass and kept in the museum of the Bzommar Monastery (Lebanon)—and a commemorative medal prepared in memory of the canonization ceremony that took place in the Vatican on October 19.
