In Strasbourg, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, met with the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Michael O'Flaherty.
During the meeting, reforms in the field of human rights protection in Armenia, steps aimed at strengthening democratic institutions, as well as prospects for cooperation between Armenia and the Council of Europe were discussed.
Prime Minister Pashinyan praised the activities of the Commissioner for Human Rights and emphasized Armenia's readiness to continue close cooperation with the Council of Europe in the fields of strengthening human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.
Michael O'Flaherty highly appreciated the commitment of the RA Government in the field of human rights protection and the consistent steps taken towards strengthening democracy, emphasizing that this contributes to the protection of the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens.
The parties also discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation, stressing the importance of continuous and constructive dialogue between Armenia and the Council of Europe.
