Pashinyan: Karabakh Issue Was a Leash to End Armenia's Statehood

RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page:
  1. The recent statements by RK and SS [Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan] reaffirm that the Karabakh issue was a rope in the hands of known forces to tie the Republic of Armenia to the "nearest tree." The rights of peoples, historical justice, and similar terms were merely a smokescreen for the main goal.
  2. All negotiation processes and proposals have been about shortening the rope (короткий поводок - short leash). By the end of the year, the negotiation papers will be published, and this will become more visible.
  3. All proposals to "stop the war" have been about shortening the rope (I have publicly addressed this topic many times).
  4. The ultimate goal of this process of shortening the rope was to put an end to Armenia's statehood.
  5. In that scenario, the Karabakh conflict was supposed to end only and exclusively with the loss of Armenia's statehood.
  6. The Republic of Armenia, at the cost of the lives of our martyrs, and thanks to the historical intuition of our people in the Republic of Armenia and Karabakh, was able to get out of that scenario.
  7. RK and SS are proposing a return to that scenario, which was initially written and implemented under the slogan "Lenin, Party, Gorbachev" and, most likely, under the patronage of the KGB.
  8. And since their chances are clearly zero, an attempt is being made to form a "cohort of young-Lenin-Party-Gorbachevists" under the patronage of old KGB agents.
  9. The expected result: 0+0=0.
  10. P.S. Our people from Karabakh, with the support of the Government, must be settled in the Republic of Armenia. It is true that this is a large-scale, complex, and resource-intensive program, but we will continue to implement it.
