Pashinyan: Start the Renewal of the Church with Internal Renewal

Early in the morning, Nikol Pashinyan made a statement dedicated to both the meeting scheduled to take place at Hovhannavank on Sunday, November 2, and the future course of relations with the Mother See.

"This conversation began as a dispute bordering on profanity, but it has transformed into an agenda of spiritual and moral renewal. Therein lies the life-giving power of our Lord and Teacher Jesus Christ and the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church. Each of us must realize that the agenda for the spiritual and moral renewal of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church is, first and foremost, an agenda for each individual's internal renewal.

And before we free our holy of holies, the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, from Nerses the Brave and his groupies, we must first become spiritually and morally worthy of our holy of holies, the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. I hope that all those who are preparing to attend the holy and immortal liturgy at Hovhannavank today have this awareness within them," the Prime Minister of Armenia noted in his statement.

Let us recall that today, for the second time, a priest who was defrocked by the Mother See is serving a liturgy at Hovhannavank. For the second consecutive Sunday, Nikol Pashinyan is at Hovhannavank with his supporters.
