Pakistan Army Kills 30 Militants in Retaliatory Strike

The armed forces of Pakistan have announced that 30 militants were killed in a large-scale counter-terrorism operation in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, bordering Afghanistan. This operation was a response to the brutal attack on October 7, which resulted in the deaths of 11 Pakistani soldiers.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army, the militants belonged to the "Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan" (TJP) terrorist group. The intelligence-based operation led to an intense exchange of fire, during which all the terrorists involved in the attack were eliminated.
"During the operation based on credible intelligence, after an intense exchange of fire, all thirty militants involved in the terrorist incident were sent to hell," the military statement said.
The tragic incident that provoked this retaliatory action took place in the Dara Adam Khel area. At that time, a suicide bomber drove a vehicle laden with explosives into a military convoy, which was followed by an attack by ambushed militants. This treacherous attack resulted in the deaths of 11 soldiers.
The "Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan" group, which is considered an ally of the "Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan" (TTP) movement, had claimed responsibility for that attack. These groups have become particularly active since 2022, when the TTP canceled the ceasefire agreement with the Pakistani government.
In recent years, Pakistan has been facing an increase in terrorist attacks, especially in the regions bordering Afghanistan, where, according to Islamabad, numerous militant groups have found refuge. The US administration, led by President Donald Trump, has repeatedly expressed its concern about the rise of terrorism in the region and continues to cooperate with the Pakistani authorities in the fight against extremism.
