Orbán Calls Ukraine a 'Buffer State,' Offers Cooperation
26 JUL 2025 13:31
Viktor Orbán has stated that Hungary offers Ukraine to start a strategic cooperation that will be "pragmatic, flexible and mutually beneficial, not irreversible integration."
He announced this in an interview, an excerpt of which he published on his X social media page, writes "European Pravda". Orbán called Ukraine a "buffer state".
"Today, the fate of Ukraine is to be a buffer state bordering Russia. We are not ready to accept such a fate. The Hungarians have just escaped from it. It may be inconvenient, it may be bad, but the fact is that it is impossible to change the country's address," noted the Hungarian Prime Minister.
