Northern Cyprus Concerned by Military Buildup in South

The President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Ersin Tatar, has stated that the foreign military presence in the southern part of Cyprus is growing. According to him, this gives rise to serious concerns.

"Southern Cyprus is excessively arming itself. Now Israel, through some of its citizens, has influence over its ports and airports. The same applies to France. Great Britain already has two sovereign military bases," Tatar emphasized.

He also added that new actors are involved in the region. "Now, along with the Israelis, Americans are also present in the south... Even India has sent a ship there."
