Discussions around Donald Trump's Nobel chances have intensified

Discussions around the possibility of US President Donald Trump receiving the Nobel Peace Prize have intensified. Russia, represented by presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, has stated that it would support Trump's candidacy, thus positively assessing his mediation efforts in resolving international conflicts.
However, opinions among the international community and experts are not unanimous. Despite Trump's activity, particularly in reaching an agreement between Israel and Hamas, his chances are viewed rather cautiously. According to the betting agency Polymarket, the probability of Trump winning is only 3%. For comparison, the chances of UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders are estimated at 1%.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee, which is responsible for selecting the laureate, has added further interest to the situation. According to information from the Agence France-Presse (AFP), the committee made its final decision at its last meeting on October 6. This means that the historic deal reached between Israel and Hamas cannot in any way influence the choice of this year's laureate.
This year, 338 candidates—individuals and organizations—are vying for the prestigious award. Who will become the 2025 laureate will be announced on October 10, but it is already clear that the selection was made based on events that took place before the beginning of October.
