MIA Denies Pressure Claims Ahead of Artsakhi Rally
12 JUL 2025 12:26
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia denies the statement by the Council for the Protection of the Rights of Artsakhis that repressions are being carried out against them by the RA authorities ahead of the rally on July 12. MIA spokesperson Narek Sargsyan informed NEWS.am about this.
"The claim about repressions absolutely does not correspond to reality. The MIA police are discussing organizational issues with the organizers of this rally, just as with any other. During the authorized rally, the MIA police are obliged to maintain public order, which will be properly carried out," he said.
We remind you that today, July 12, at 18:00, a rally organized by the Council for the Protection of the Rights of Artsakhis is scheduled at Freedom Square in Yerevan.
The "Council for the Protection of the Rights of Artsakhis" had earlier released a statement claiming that repressions were being used against the council's members and supporters by the RA authorities. The Council also informed that the Yerevan Municipality had authorized their rally, but the subsequent march to the National Assembly and Government buildings, as well as the sit-in, were not authorized.
