17 SEP 2025 11:07
The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Armenia, Alexandra Pamela Cowell, presented her credentials to the President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan.
The President congratulated the Ambassador on the start of her responsible mission and wished her success. President Khachaturyan emphasized that the development of relations with the United Kingdom is important for Armenia.
"In recent years, our cooperation has noticeably intensified, and as a result, our bilateral interaction has reached the level of a strategic partnership," noted Vahagn Khachaturyan. In this context, the President expressed hope that the parties will sign the corresponding agreement in the near future.
Referring to our country's development path, the President of the Republic noted that since gaining independence, Armenia has consistently defended and developed democratic principles, having traveled a difficult and responsible path to this day.
Ambassador Alexandra Pamela Cowell thanked for the reception and noted:
"Thank you for the reception, as well as for accepting my credentials. This is a great time to be the British Ambassador to Armenia. I think our relations have really improved in recent years, and the agreement to turn our relations into a strategic partnership gives us many opportunities to work together on a number of issues of mutual interest, based on democracy, the rule of law, human rights, and especially on sovereignty and territorial integrity."
