New 15,000-Seat Stadium to Be Built in Vagharshapat

A new stadium will be built in the city of Vagharshapat in Armavir province. At its September 18 session, the RA government approved the "Investment Program for the Development of Vagharshapat Stadium and Football Academy Infrastructures," presented by "Imagine Yerevan" LLC, which was founded in 2023 by the president of the "Noah" football club. The project cost is estimated at 7 billion 2 million drams.

"The project is planned to be implemented in two parallel phases, starting from 2024. In the first phase, from 2024-2030, the Vagharshapat Football Academy will be modernized to meet international standards. The second phase is planned for 2025-2030, within which a building for the youth football academy, a stadium, a sports base, and other auxiliary infrastructures will be built," the project states.

The stadium will be built on 5.56 hectares of land belonging to "Imagine Yerevan" LLC and 23.84 hectares of land that is community property of Vagharshapat. The community land plot will be sold to the company through a direct sale, as a result of which about 688 million drams will be credited to the community budget. The stadium will have a capacity of 15,000 spectators. 4-6 natural and artificial turf fields are also planned.
