Prosecutor Seeks Arrest of MP Artur Sargsyan for Terror Plot

The Prosecutor's Office petitions for permission to criminally prosecute and detain NA deputy Artur Sargsyan on charges of preparing terrorism.

Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan has sent two petitions to the National Assembly to obtain the consent of the deputies to initiate public criminal prosecution against and to detain Artur Sargsyan, a deputy of the opposition "Hayastan" faction.

According to the prosecutor, there is sufficient evidence to charge the opposition deputy under articles of preparing terrorism and usurping power.
