Mirzoyan in Paris: Disinformation a Threat to Democracy

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, participated in a high-level international conference's round-table discussion on information integrity and independent journalism.

The discussion was held within the framework of the 8th Paris Peace Forum, which this year was launched under the theme "New Coalitions for Peace, People, and the Planet."

Minister Mirzoyan:

"Our meeting is taking place at a crucial time when access to reliable information and independent journalism play a key role in promoting democratic values, yet, at the same time, digital technologies and artificial intelligence are being used as tools to spread large-scale fake news and carry out disinformation campaigns."
