Mirzoyan Discusses Preparations for COP17 in Yerevan

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, received the Executive Secretary of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, Astrid Schomaker. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The interlocutors discussed the progress of the preparatory work for the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), which will be held in Yerevan in 2026. It was emphasized that tangible work has been carried out to date for the substantive and technical preparation of the event, aimed at holding an ambitious and inclusive conference.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Astrid Schomaker exchanged ideas to promote the successful conduct of the conference and, in general, to enhance cooperation within the UN framework, emphasizing the readiness of the Republic of Armenia and the Convention Secretariat, as well as international partners, for active interaction in their implementation.
