On November 12, in Copenhagen, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with the Deputy Speaker of the Danish Parliament, Karsten Hønge, and members of the Foreign Relations and European Affairs committees. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The interlocutors discussed the development of bilateral relations between Armenia and Denmark, the agenda for deepening the Armenia-European Union partnership, as well as issues of regional security. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the growing cooperation between the parliaments of Armenia and Denmark, including in the Armenia-Nordic-Baltic countries (NB8) format.
Ararat Mirzoyan stressed that the commitment of these countries to democracy, the rule of law, the protection of human rights, and good governance inspires and supports Armenia on the path of democratic reforms, as well as in deepening the partnership with the EU. The Minister mentioned the law "On Starting the Process of the Republic of Armenia's Accession to the European Union" adopted by the RA National Assembly in March 2025, which was primarily an expression of the aspirations of the citizens of the RA through a civic initiative.
Referring to the agreements reached in Washington on August 8, Minister Mirzoyan noted that the unblocking of regional communication channels creates mutual advantages for the countries of the region and beyond, contributing to the expansion of the communication network from Europe to Asia and vice versa. Ararat Mirzoyan presented the RA's approach to the signing of the Agreement on Peace and the Establishment of Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Humanitarian issues were also addressed.
The head of the RA foreign ministry also answered other questions of interest to the Danish parliamentarians.
